I've never once told a pharmacist my order. I walk up to the drop-off, hand them my prescriptions, and walk away. You don't even have to say "hello" if you don't want to. When it's ready they tell you the total and hand you a bag with your medicine in it.
- gnicholas 6y agoThat's true for dropping off prescriptions, but for pickup it's more complicated. First, a blind customer would want to confirm that he's getting the right medication, since he wouldn't be able to read the label or receipt. Also, blind customers are more likely to want the pharmacist to give oral instructions, for the same reason. This could be sensitive if others are nearby, since it's revealing private medical condition.
- Causality1 6y agoHow would making the website more accessible have any impact on those things?
- gnicholas 6y agoIf the app/website can provide this information, the customer can listen to it in the privacy of his own home, instead of requiring him to ask in the store. Though I suppose he could also call the pharmacy and ask for the info. This isn’t as convenient though (I’m often on hold for long periods when I call my pharmacy).
- anoncake 6y agoI just checked a couple of medicine packages and they're all labeled in Braille. Is that not the case in the USA?
- WalterGR 6y agoI've never seen medicine packaging in the US that has Braille.
