Seaspiracy Harms More Than It Educates
- riffraff 6y agoI've seen a couple food-related documentaries on Netflix. They were a complete disaster of oversimplification with biases so evident that it made them impossible to watch. Netflix has some great documentaries (Icarus is really good) but I would stay away from anything related from alimentary/food sustainability issues.
- DorianSinDeep 6y agoI suppose its possible that you're just aware of more nuance in food-related things and that an average consumer like me would call those documentaries okay too.
- riffraff 6y agoyou are right, a Gell-Mann amnesia effect is possible. But I think I'm as ignorant about agricultural issues as I am about athletics, it's just that if you look at, say, What the Health[0] or Cowspiracy[1] you immediately get a feeling the crew started with a thesis and then looked for reasons to sustain it, but didn't bother at all with different views.
