Uber Won’t Let CA Drivers Set Own Prices After Rider Cancellations Rose 117%
- noodlesUK 6y agoAm I understanding this right? > For riders, Uber will no longer show an estimated price range before requesting a ride, meaning the app will only show a single upfront price. Can I not see a price estimate before ordering an Uber? That would prevent me from wanting to use their service at all. Isn’t uber’s entire value prop over cabs is easy hailing and pricing that you see up front?
- WalterGR 6y agoThey will no longer show a price range and will instead show a price.
- toomuchtodo 6y agoSo Uber drivers in California are independent contractors but Uber is setting the price?
- p49k 6y agoYes, as the article states, the passage of Prop 22 strengthens the status of gig workers as contractors, which gives Uber less of an incentive to give them more independence.
