I remember being on holiday at the German coast as a kid, craving for a Brezel. I was shocked that the bakeries there didn't sell them (at least in the 90ies). To me, a bakery was basically a Brezel-selling store with some additional stuff for adults (most bakeries here have a stylized Brezel in their logo). My 2 year old daughter calls bakeries "Brezel". But, as someone from the Stuttgart area, I would argue that a good Brezel is also hard to find in Bavaria ;)
