>We wish to thank everyone that participated in these discussions. Testimonies from people who experienced harassment or awkward situations, reports about students (notably women) who ended up not learning / using Coq because of its name, were all very important so that the community could fully recognize the impact of the current name and its slang meaning in English, especially with respect to gender-diversity in the Coq community.

- Galanwe 6y ago> especially with respect to gender-diversity in the Coq community. Seriously there are some people getting shocked that a foreign word sounds like slang for male genitals in their language? These people seriously need to grow up and accept that not everything is centered around their world. "bit" is slang for cock in French, "chat" is slang for vagina, "Nike" means fuck, should we rename these so that it does not shock anyone? Where's the limit?
- bungle 6y agoSo it seems like, but it has been ongoing for very long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM541-RBCwg&t=360s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM541-RBCwg&t=360s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6tqt0aKCQo&t=18s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6tqt0aKCQo&t=18s
