I am not an HN representative but for myself I greatly doubt that Hacker News would be an easy target for criminals. HN seems to be a forum for the intelligentsia, whose interests do not usually include crime. Hackers are computer programmers. We call ourselves hackers because of the nature of our work. Its 99% sheer frustration quite often, and we have to try again and again and again in order to get our code working properly. That's hacking. Popular news sources make it sound as though all hackers are bad people but that's obviously not so :)
