Assuming the facts are as stated, Google's handling of this issue is inept. When there is a substantive conflict between employees, the employer needs to take immediate action, within 24 hours or less. For example, the complainant or the supervisor should have been assigned to work in a different location, or transferred to another project. This can be done with some finesse, so as not make the reason obvious to others. This is the right thing to do if harassment is occurring as described, or even if the complainant is making a false accusation. Given that the complaint was sustained, it would be interesting to know Google's experience as to whether supervisors' behavior changes or continues.
