This user stalked me from a previous comment chain. Essentially they are bought into critical theory and I'm bought into systems theory so we're talking past each other.
It's kind of amusing given we're presumably after the same thing (reducing power differentials) but by different means.
- mlthoughts2018 6y agoI don’t think we’re talking past each other, I just noticed after your comments on the other thread that you have a lot of incendiary bias in many comments that seems really toxic and you seem blind to it and very un-self-aware. For example, you made a recent comment talking about how almost all software developers are horrible at their jobs and that a small set of gatekeeper senior engineers should guard all code review. It just reveals beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are the toxic common element across all these different topics and you bring the same toxicity you have in political beliefs even over into other domains like rudimentary discussion of software engineering. I’m more interested in calling out your really troubling toxic attitudes. I might be right or I might be wrong about details in the politics thread, but it just pales in comparison to the severe bias and negativity emanating from every discussion you join, and yet you persist in complete self-denial that you’ve got some major attitude issues you need to deal with.
- beaconstudios 6y agothen consider me called out. For what it's worth, I don't think you are being particularly pleasant either. That's just disliking each other, and I'm OK with that. > For example, you made a recent comment talking about how almost all software developers are horrible at their jobs and that a small set of gatekeeper senior engineers should guard all code review. For what it's worth it was something of an ironic joke related to the idea that "half of all people are below average at X", but also pointing at the idea that the industry gets better as the individuals who make it up get better at what they do. I support the idea that people who are better at a job should help to educate others. I try to humble myself to better engineers than myself.
