If I have a cold, it's annoying and makes it hard to breathe but it doesn't prevent me from working. Getting a few colds a year while working in an office is normal. I'm more than happy to work with a cold, I'd just prefer to do it from home than at an office where I'm probably going to share it with at least one other person. If I have to make a mad dash to the toilet every few minutes, then working isn't practical. If I'm burning up with fever and feel like a truck hit me, working isn't practical.
