WeWork branded itself as a "tech company" but it doesn't mean if you have a website or a mobile app that you are tech company. I think naive investors propelled the failure of WeWork in a way that throwing cash at the company made them think they are going to succeed. It is akin to a teacher telling a bad student "don't worry you are not that bad" or "don't worry you are good" just to make him or her feel better or to incentivize them to work harder.
