Show HN: Let AI rewrite your text
- manx 6y agoDeveloper here. When writing, I was not satisfied with existing grammar checkers (Grammarly, LanguageTool). What I really wanted was better wording for what I wanted to say. My NLP experiments turned into a working product that I now use myself. I am looking for ways to easily monetize. Currently, I'm thinking about a prepaid solution instead of a monthly subscription. You would pay per character until your paid amount is used up. Any other ideas? Appreciate any feedback
- jakecurreri 6y agoEspecially with the growing popularity of GPT-3 in the dev community, the market for paid language processing tools is getting tighter. Your approach -- focusing on grammar and institutional language -- fits a niche. I would caution against paying per character. Too often a focus on monetization limits early-stage products. It's very rare to launch a product and see cash flow immediately. Try to focus on the user experience. Maybe add variables that could improve the generated text - like an intended audience. This would naturally create a paid model (i.e. deeper degree improvements are paid). Use the Hemingway app (https://hemingwayapp.com/ https://hemingwayapp.com/) as an example of a free, value-added app. You're competing more against a tool like that than Grammarly.x
