i’m not surprised that a mechanism like this is involved in memory storage/retrieval.
im left with questions about the heritability of these epigenetic parts of memory.
- andelu 6y agoHeritability? How? Remember that gamets (egg/sperm) are not affected by this, so passing these memories onto the next generation is not plausible.
- beowulfey 6y agothis particular kind of interaction would not be transmissible. Some other mechanisms, such as DNA methylation or miRNA may be though.
