When are countries & users going to fine FB for leaking data? It's such a boring dystopia that the only response they have is "it's from 2019", like WTH?

- bhaavan 6y agoIt may be a boring dystopia, but, you can't be fined for the same crime over and over again, can you? https://www.dw.com/en/facebook-data-on-millions-of-user-accounts-leaked-online-in-latest-breach/a-57095637 https://www.dw.com/en/facebook-data-on-millions-of-user-acco...
- zaarn 6y agoGDPR violations aren't a crime. You can be fined multiple times for the same issue if you, for example, are being a complete ass towards the DPA or you refuse to fix underlying issues.
- zaarn 6y agoFB is being blocked by the Irish DPA, since EU FB is HQ'd there. Sadly this one loophole made it into the GDPR, so the other DPA's can only forward to the Irish agency for FB issues.
