Why should you be proud to fail CSSLint?
- daleharvey 15y agoI lot of people disagree with a lot of the rules laid out for csslint http://csslint.net/about.html http://csslint.net/about.html I do as well
- ugh 15y agoStill a pretty nonsensical thing to write, isn’t it? CSSLint does not even try to say anything about cutesy things like that. It is intended for different use cases and it is to be expected that a CSS Nyan Cat would fail CSSLint. There is nothing wrong with that, even if you believe that CSSLint is great.
- daleharvey 15y agonot really, he may have already been asked about it, it could have just been in his head because it became popular recently. I think its more nonsensical to get worked up about the fact he wrote it
- ugh 15y agoI did not get worked up about that.
- chriserin 15y agoOne of many many fails was: Don't use IDs in selectors. #nyanCat { What's the thinking behind disallowing ids in selectors?
- joske2 15y agoThe idea is that using IDs reduces the reusability of your css rules.
- catshirt 15y ago"Using float for layout isn't a great idea, but sometimes you have to. CSS Lint simply checks to see if you've used float more than 10 times, and if so, displays a warning. Using this many floats usually means you need some sort of abstraction to achieve the layout." what does this even mean?
- BasDirks 15y agoIt has a couple of very bad rules.
