I sense that Libertarians and Republicans are going to face a day of reckoning when it comes to their ideal of "limited government" and the "free market" because it seems like the free market has embraced Progressivism and rejected political neutrality. They'll have to choose which rights they value more, the civil rights of corporations or the civil rights of individuals.
- mech422 6y agoYeah - Its interesting, you can refuse to serve gay people a wedding cake, but cut people off from their phoney internet points and all hell breaks loose. Personally, I think if govts consider social media so vital and a matter of 'the public good' - they should create a 'national' social media. Just like we have PBS, we could have some public media service. Private businesses are just that - private. They are hardly a monopoly, are not 'required' services by any stretch of the imagination, and are not a public utility.
