It is not remotely difficult to convert large amounts of ETH into actual money. Certainly not $400K worth. The market is enormous, and a conversion like this could be done in seconds on a number of exchanges. My arb bot managed to make about $60K over the course of 2 very lucky days about a month ago on the Binance Smart Chain. Converting BNB to ETH on the main chain, then cashing it in for fiat, couldn't have been easier. It didn't come close to causing a ripple in the market.
