What you consider is not religious fact. This is a religious law that is agreed upon by each of the Schools of Jurisprudence in the Sunnis and the Shias. Edit - This is not meant to be demeaning. What I meant is that religious law in Islam is not based on what is considered to be acceptable or not by a few people. Also what a person and their friends consider a ruling to be is not representative for all Muslims.
