From my reading of the article and related topics the intention is to use it for much more than proof of vaccination. CBDC (central bank digital currencies) seem like a perfect fit. As the article mentions, they are referred to as "wallets". The WEF has a project called ID2020.

- heckerhut 6y agoIt’s a thin line. I’ve been running a service a few years back that required KYC. Lots of people from African countries could not sign up for a lack of ID. In that respect it is a human right. But I agree with your double speak sentiment as well. It’s almost impossible not to be abused.
