Bash is fine as long as everything works. Handling errors in bash is a fool’s errand and you’re quite right to use Python for resilience in the face of errors or malformed input. Sometimes you just gotta eat. Python is a sit-down meal. Bash is a can of beans. I’m happy eating both for dinner but it depends who (if anyone) I’m sharing my meal with.
