I'm probably an outsider here, but as an iTerm user my usual way to copy short pieces of text from tmux is to just disable mouse reporting, select the text with my mouse, and do the good old cmd-c. Not really a sophisticated approach but it gets the work done, and works just as fine on remote tmux sessions.
- mdaniel 6y agoIf you weren't already aware, you can just drag the selected text slightly and it will retype it at the current prompt position, without dirtying your clipboard. QTerminal does the same on Linux, and likely other terminal emulators, too Or if you are copying it out of iTerm, replace "slightly" with "to the other terminal" :-)
