The Mechanic of the Future
- ryzvonusef 6y agoBasically the video discusses how as the EV "revolution" takes places, what it means for the mechanics of the future, especially as cars come out of warranty and there isn't an existing setup to cover these topics. But also, an important point is highlighted: 1- Existent mechanics will find it really hard to convert, since the skills required are far closer to an electrician's work set than a "mechanic's", and this will cause job losses. 2- technicians who gain experience working for the manufacturer's service center warranty repairs also will face difficulty when leaving the organization and working independently, especially on out of warranty cars... because manufacturers prefer easy bulk repairs rather than spend the labor hours on a person with a tester poking every cell in a pack for a broken fuse. Basically if Louis Rossman was mad about apple laptop repairs... this takes it to 11.
