Not sure why they didn't just go with Elasticsearch?
- softwaredoug 6y agoWe do use Elasticsearch :) But getting ranking right is extremely custom in any context. If relevance was a webapp, relevance ranking is like building the business logic, whereas Elasticsearch is like MySQL. It's a piece of infra that needs to be customized for the project.
