Arizona app store antitrust bill is dead following Apple and Google lobbying
- mrzimmerman 6y ago> It’s clear that there was intense lobbying by Apple and Google, but then the bill was only put forward after similarly intense lobbying by CAF [Coalition for App Fairness, the industry group composed of Epic, Tinder parent company Match Group, and Spotify]. Cobb said that the bill won’t be heard again in the current session, which ends next month. In reality, it’s likely gone for good. As an Arizonan I'd rather my state's legislative process wasn't being used as a battleground between a bunch of giant companies who don't care about any of the people who live here. So good riddance to bad legislation, written by one special interest lobbying group, pushed by some yahoo law maker who was bought in the first place, and opposed by some other special interest lobbying group.
