Hypothesis Testing
I am validating a hypothesis for my project and I want to ask you for help. A bit of context. We consume a lot of information from social media every day (quora, reddit, twitter, hacker news, and so on). People use feeds for articles, subscribe via mail, monitor in their spare time, use Evernote to save the desired article, or in a business approach to monitor mentions, they use YouScan. We work out a hypothesis: we indicate topics, keywords by interest, select sources that are relevant to you, save and filter information for you, thereby reducing a large flow of unnecessary information. What is the profit? You do not need to spend an infinitely long time searching for information, it will find you by itself, since it will be stored in one place and everything is always at hand. You can easily find the answer to your question or topic of interest using tags. How do you consume information from social media and how much would such a decision make your life easier?
- antasvara 6y agoCan I ask you how this is any different from a Facebook or Reddit or any other content aggregator? If I understand correctly, you're tagging internet content and serving it to people who are interested in those topics. However, isn't this what most feeds do? I subscribe to subreddit based on my topics of interest, I surf sites that I find there, Facebook serves me topics based on my interests, etc... If the value isn't a new feed, but rather the actual tagging process itself, how do you propose that you can tag content better than other sources without access to a lot of personal information? Or, alternatively, how is your service better at tagging content than a dedicated forum to each topic?
- katvol 6y agoThe difference is that you can connect as many sources as you like to one workspace and receive only what you are looking for an answer to or what interests you most, without wasting time on unnecessary things. You can set the rules according to which articles or posts from forums / social networks will get into the service, for example, I connect 5 sources and I want to receive only the most discussed articles mentioning Elon Musk, the bitcoin rate and the colonization of Mars, thereby reducing a large flow of information. After all, you can read 10 articles from different sites from beginning to end and never get a specific answer to your question. How do you think this option would simplify the consumption of knowledge from social networks?
