This is precisely why I always choose to use the mobile version of a site/app rather than the app if it's available. Safari has great adblocking. Also, the mobile version of a site is typically a superior UX compared to apps because the controls are consistent. It's usually faster, and best of all, it's MUCH easier to block all of the tracking.
