Optimizing Favicons for the World's Top Websites
- Osmanski 6y agoInteresting to see websites like NY Post or Trello pushing 150kb favicons. Never heard of Goo.ne.jp that ships 0.5MB icon, just checked on Alexa and they are ranking #571, insane traffic and crazy waste of bandwidth.
- rast-a 6y agoNever thought you could actually start planning your performance budget with something as small as favicons. Developers are whining about the bundle size of their JS files, scratching their heads just to shave off a few kb here and there and, at the same time, some designer comes up with a half a MB Favicon and calls it a day.
