Robots could replace 1.7M American truckers in the next decade (2016)
- moreoutput 6y agoIt's been five years, do we know how many were replaced?
- haltingproblem 6y agoI propose zero since there is no evidence to the contrary. One-off semi-driverless drives with drivers chaperoning the trip make the news all the time.
- transtrain 6y agoFedex/UPS will have trucks driving distribution point to distribute point in the next year if they don't already. All highway. For the rest of the industry a business similar to 'harbour pilots' will around. Manually drivers for complex (downtown) deliveries. The self driving cans will be turned around doing something else.
