Why wouldn't they? A rocket doesn't have eyes, and they get all the data through telemetry anyway.

You would want to visually see what's happening with your rocket test wouldn't you? It just makes no sense why they didn't scrub for a few hours. Especially given the abundance of caution SpaceX has always shown with that.
