We're focused on routing (shoreside) and not navigation at the moment, so we've been able to build a custom in-house map focused on the needs of crew managers and operators. Unfortunately you're right about the rest - it's a problem that's pervasive throughout maritime. We've had to build our own routing engine, port database, and much more that we initially expected to buy/use.
