The point of an interview is to evaluate a candidate's fit for a particular role. This reads to me like the evaluation criteria is whether the candidate prepared for interviews or not. I don't understand this worldview at all, and I've been a hiring manager at both startups and FAANG. What's also well documented is that studying Leetcode is about keeping a warm cache of solutions to common problems at interview time, and much less to do with reasoning through problems.
