DEF Con 29 Theme and Style Guide
- seibelj 6y agoAnyone know if this is happening in-person in Vegas this year? Nothing official I can find but maybe someone here can post the inside scoop. I would love an excuse to go to Vegas this year.
- Rendello 6y ago> DEF CON is planning to perform a risk assessment to help us decide, ideally by sometime in April, if we should hold a physical "last known good configuration" conference in Las Vegas for 2021 I found this here: https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-29/dc-29-cfe.html https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-29/dc-29-cfe.html
- brodouevencode 6y agoBlackhat, DEFCON, many others just aren't the same without a physical presence. TBQH with BH and DEF in particular I think their timelines are limited: the attendees at either circa 2003 would certainly be minimal today compared to then. It's a completely different world nowadays.
- KingMachiavelli 6y agoSame here. I've never been able to go and planned to go last year prior to COVID. Hopefully it will be back this year. Timeline for vaccines in the US seem sufficient enough for it to be fine. Although I can only imagine how crazy reserving space and services in Vegas will be right after COVID ends. Hopefully as a long standing event they have some clout.
- peter_d_sherman 6y ago>"But Max Headroom wasn’t done with us. On the 22 of November, 1987 Max jumped the air gap." An interesting observation! One might think of the physical gap between today's TV News -- and its viewing audience -- as an "air-gapped network"...<g>
