"People don't want a quarter inch drill, they want a quarter inch hole." Leo McGivena, 1947 I will disagree with the title in that it is important to consider your means of production, and a language is not just a language, it is the opportunity cost of that language versus another in terms of efficient and accurate delivery of what the people want, support provided by others, the expertise in the market, 3rd party tooling and integration, and so on. So you should give a shit what language you use, to give the people what they want the best way possible.
