We were slightly bit by this over the weekend and caught in the unfortunate situation where we're basically left complaining about free software and handling of said ecosystem. Luckily we didn't have any critical fixes that needed to go out. I'm sure there were a few teams who needed to scramble but were left waiting. Yes it could be handled better, but please remember, so much of it is software where no money needed to be paid to use.
