- throwaway2037 6y agoI just Googled annual subscription cost for The Economist: ~200 USD. That is the same for the New Yorker. I agree with your point: Their readership is a drop in the ocean compared to other English language news sources. That said: It is worth considering the effect of "high/difficult paywall" on readership. Both have almost zero free content, high subscription costs, but excellent reporting. To state the obvious: Good media isn't cheap!
