If you're in the UK/south-east, you can see a mature medlar tree in a corner of the tudor garden at Cressing Temple barns. Note that this is a working garden, so be careful about picking fruits! There was once a beautiful medlar at the end of the driveway to a very popular farm shop in Brentwood. I used to ask permission to gather fruits, because no one in the shop knew what it was. One year I came there, and the tree was gone - cut down. Really sad. Medlars make amazing jam!
