I use to teach Alice to kids and I remember being confused why why line existed. No one ever used it and the teaching books did a poor job of highlighting its importance. It’s a very excellent idea and is done in modern languages like C#. The compiler is the syntax checker and can show unreachable code, bad access, etc.
