When someone needs to rage against the "non-sensical, ultra-sensitive left", this is the sort of stuff they can Google to make their point. CBC gets to make money from clicks, but also serves those in power by helping to distract away from actual socialist critiques of the present federal "leftist" government. This isn't just some "never ascribe to nefarious reasons what could be better explained by stupidity" thing. It happens too damn often.
