Not sure if this is related to all the progress made with testing for COVID (are these both PCR tests?), however it makes me wonder if COVID will lead to the next industrial revolution. I suspect feedback from and eventually alteration of DNA/mRNA will be used to prevent disease, then ageing and then eventually enhance human cognition and other abilities like growing human machine interfaces on the skin...

- ceejayoz 6y agoTo be clear, COVID vaccines have nothing to do with DNA alteration. It's not a form of gene therapy, despite attempts by antivaxxers to claim it is.
- andy_ppp 6y agoIt’s not changing your dna but it is using your cell machinery to produce proteins, what is DNA really doing if not that? How long before chemotherapy is produced in your own cells by a genetically modified virus that only infects cancerous tissues. I’m only thinking out loud on this and happy to clarify be told I’m wrong.
