- 01100011 6y agoWhat's wrong with that? The company has to react both tactically and strategically. Short term, they may have to use overseas production while the domestic capability improves.
- totalZero 6y agoFirst, Intel has bought several businesses and some of them (Altera for example) have a pre-existing relationship with TSMC. Second, every wafer that Intel fabs at TSMC is a wafer that AMD cannot fab at TSMC. Intel plays defense on pricing and supply by producing with TSMC. Not to mention the greater market awareness that Intel gains by being a client of its competitor.
- dannyw 6y agoTSMC knows Intel is a fab competitor, and everyone involved in the relationship will be thinking first about how to protect TSMC interests and trade secrets, and secondly servicing Intel.
