Leaked docs show Obama dropped Google anti-trust in exchange for reelection help
- kstenerud 6y agoPlease don't editorialize the title. The real title is "How Washington fumbled the future" The subtitle is "A decade ago, a surging Silicon Valley giant was making plans to dominate the internet. Given a chance to stop it, regulators chosen by Barack Obama misread the evidence in front of their eyes." And the truth (like always) is a lot more nuanced in the article itself.
- creato 6y agoThis title is more than editorialized, the word "election" doesn't appear in the article at all.
- dredmorbius 6y agoThere are times when vagueness or clickbait titles are encouraged to be rwitten, though text should come from the article if possible. Possible candidates: "When antitrust regulators [appointed by former President Barack Obama] declined to sue Google." (text in brackets could be dropped for length) "Given a chance to stop it, regulators chosen by Barack Obama misread the evidence in front of their eyes.", perhaps rewritten as "Given a chance to stop Google, regulators misread the evidence" (again, for length) I'd omit the headline mention of the politician to avoid a pointlessly politicised discussion, despite that being a materially significant aspect.
