Most http logs just store request info. It is quite possible to capture detailed connection info, but web logs at scale are not free and better deliver some value. Akamai for example only logs connection termination errors for failed transactions--and it needs a valid header to do so, or it will not get logged. I am not too worried about the described behavior.
