An interesting website based on this concept is https://www.lacinetek.com/ https://www.lacinetek.com/ : it's a website gathering recommendations from famous directors (including Kurosawa), and offering to rent the movies for streaming. It includes mainly classic and high quality movies, and while it's a bit pricey compared to Netflix, I've yet to be disappointed by a selection. Picking a movie from there is the equivalent of eating in a nice restaurant : probably not something you'd do everyday, but definitely worth it once in a while.
