You don't want AIs replacing human generals, because generals need to make tough calls. So tough, that their decisions are still debated by us 100+ years after. War is the most sophisticated application of human intelligence. Dog-fighting F-16s are more like a self driving car in this sense, than a general intelligence capable of winning a war.
