I don't understand why anyone would care what their IQ is. What can you do with that? Does any job have a minimum IQ requirement? Do people qualify potential spouses based on IQ? Maybe I'm biased against knowing because I know I'm not much smarter than average.

I can appreciate your revulsion to IQ as a concept. Yes, there is no real utility to knowing IQ. And there is much elitism surrounding IQ. Mensa is gross. And IQ isn't even a full measure of cognitive capacity. There's creative problem solving. And emotional intelligence. But there IS a kind of utility to it in the sense of self knowledge. And it can be humbling, which is always a good thing.
