edit: I found a non-sketchy grammar test, which the PsychToday test neglected to address.
- mycologos 6y agoIt said my IQ was 144, but I'm skeptical -- it seems to be almost entirely based on vocabulary?
- hydrogarden 6y agoyeah that was the problem for me. I know for a fact that my score would have been much higher if it tested grammar.
- a3n 6y agoI don't understand why anyone would care what their IQ is. What can you do with that? Does any job have a minimum IQ requirement? Do people qualify potential spouses based on IQ? Maybe I'm biased against knowing because I know I'm not much smarter than average.
- hydrogarden 6y agoI can appreciate your revulsion to IQ as a concept. Yes, there is no real utility to knowing IQ. And there is much elitism surrounding IQ. Mensa is gross. And IQ isn't even a full measure of cognitive capacity. There's creative problem solving. And emotional intelligence. But there IS a kind of utility to it in the sense of self knowledge. And it can be humbling, which is always a good thing.
