ZGC now has 0.5ms of worst case pause time
- The_rationalist 6y agoWith an average of 0.05ms and an O(1) complexity, we can fairly say that Openjdk has solved the GC problem and is now fit for most real time workloads. The fact that Java now has a superior real time GC than C# make plausible its growth as a language for video games.
- iamcreasy 6y agoI suppose engines like jMonkeyEngine still can not move to JDK 16 because Android is stuck in Java 8?
- The_rationalist 6y agoWell bytecode targeting jdk8 still runs fine on JDK16 and will benefit from ZGC which is bytecode agnostic.
