MyPyC can produce decent LLVM IR from basic python classes, to the point where accessing a builtin type attribute on an enum is just simple pointer without indirection. However that’s only one side of the python performance story, if people got into the habit of using Numpy arrays with MyPyC, python might actually be fast.
