Somewhere in one of my old electronics boxes I have some nitinol that I purchased back in the 90s called "Muscle Wire". It came with a project book that had plans for "Boris" the walking robot but I only made a simple lever out of cardboard that lifted penny weights. I may dig it up again as this machine looks really cool, although Im not sure if I can make a smooth enough joint in order to form the looped belt required.
