VS Code has the Remote SSH extension. (https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/remote/ssh https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/remote/ssh). Since I was already using Visual Studio code as my editor, creating a pretty large GCP instance and using it has been amazing. My laptop battery lasts longer and builds are quicker. But it comes with a pretty large monthly bill to manage too.
