Whenever I hear people describe tech workplaces as “toxic”, I think about this kind of stuff. I’ve heard some anecdotes about bosses at small startups who just really didn’t know what they were doing, but nothing systematic like this. Tech isn’t quite a paradise, but compared to finance, or a bunch of other industries, it’s pretty close. The tech media would still have you believe it’s on the same plane though.
